ACCOMMODATION

Le Pras is a hamlet of historical  farm buildings set the in gently rolling hills of the south Charente countryside. Some buildings date back to the 19th century with evidence of farming at Le Pras going back many centuries.

The main accommodation comprises the cottage, the barn, the farmhouse and the garden annexe, with a total of 10 en-suite double or twin rooms.

The two bedroom cottage is typically Charentaise; terracotta floor, stone walls, wood burner, shutters and a weaving old grape vine adorning the facade of this pretty building. The open plan kitchen/living area has been modernised, simple and practical, while retaining the character of the cottage.

The old barn is very large and therefore split into two areas; the first adjoins the cottage where there is a large lounge and two bedrooms. The remaining and most recently converted part of the barn enjoys a large open plan kitchen and living area with handmade oak staircase leading to a further three large bedrooms. A further three bedrooms are located in the garden annexe, a newly renovated garden outbuilding completing in early 2020.

There is a utility/laundry room with washing machine and ironing facilities, a pool table and selection of books and board games to enjoy.

The accommodation at Le Pras is flexible enabling full or part occupancy. 

OUTDOORS

Le Pras enjoys a large area of garden, some is laid to lawn while other parts are intentionally left natural to support the local wildlife. There are plenty of quiet seating areas throughout the grounds, perfect for getting lost in that holiday novel.

The sunny weather in Charente lends itself to outside dining and there are many areas to enjoy breakfast, lunch or dinner, whether on the covered terrace or next to the pool. After dinner simply sway in the hammock with a glass of local wine as the sun disappears over the hills....

There are large tables, chairs and a barbecue on the terrace; parasols and sunbeds are always available and the 10m x 5m swimming pool is a pleasant 28C in the summer due to the telescopic cover. Check out some views from the drone in the video below.
